training

theatre Y conducts acting, voice and creative writing training programmes for children and adults. we are committed to delivering exciting short and long-term theatre-focussed programmes that are an optimized mix of learning and entertainment.

research has proven the positive effect of theatre on an individual’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. theatre helps in the development of self-confidence and self-discipline and helps develop sensitivity, trust and empathy. an individual learns cooperation, problem solving and collaboration skills. theatre helps to improve physical fitness, serve as an emotional outlet and improves concentration, memory and communication skills.

we use theatre techniques as a foundation to build customized and creative training modules depending on the requirements of educational institutions and corporate organizations.

we have a dedicated team of trainers who are passionate about theatre and the wonders that theatre can do to transform an individual’s personality.

why theatre training is important…
  • theatre skills acquired can be applied in any area of life, by any person, of any age
  • theatre training makes an individual understand themselves better by increasing awareness levels and building self-confidence.
  • theatre helps an individual to overcome their inhibitions; communication and presentation of self and thoughts is an integral part of life. theatre helps in making those skills strong and effective.
  • theatre skills bring out an individual’s inherent imagination and creativity.  the application of these qualities is a strength in any area of life and work.
  • theatre focuses strongly on the individual by making them comfortable with themselves; this quality in an individual extends itself to stronger group dynamics and group related and dependent work.
  • communication and presentation skills are honed because the focus of the training is on the body, voice and mind – three aspects that are universal and common to every individual’s success irrespective of their area of work and application.
  • theatre training often taps into the areas of oneself that one never knew existed, which opens you up and results in a more holistic understanding of self and a more positive approach to life in general.
  • an inherent strength of theatre training is a convergence of learning and techniques from other skills, which results in a convergence of strengths over a common platform.
  • theatre training often yields strong results because its practice happens in non-judgmental surrounding based on equality and an openness to learn.
  • learning through theatre is maximized because of the inherent nature of group related learning where one learns from the experiences of others and the group grows together.
  • theatre brings people together through work, learning and experiences thereby enriching an individual’s growth and learning curve.
  • theatre brings together individuals from varied walks of life and work and hence enhances and facilitates a free-flow of learning that is not restricted by or to any particular field.
  • theatre training enhances critiquing and evaluation techniques of and for an individual.  These techniques go a long way in the improvement of attitudes and quality of life and work.
  • theatre related activity and training is fun, releases stress, entertains, educates and empowers an individual, and therefore, a group.
